Motorhome water pumps come in a variety of types so you need to understand whether you need a submersible water pump or an inline water pump.

Submersible pumps as the name suggests are actually in the fresh water tank / container.

Inline water pumps are part way along the fresh water hose that comes out of the fresh water tank, these are normally larger and more powerful than their submersible counterparts.

As the water pumps in motorhomes have moving parts such as impellers or diaphragm they will fail at some time and when that happens it can be catastrophic as without a water pump this normally means no water at all inside your vehicle so no shower, washing water or toilet flush. It can be prudent therefore to buy a spare and keep in your vehicle in readiness to prevent holiday nightmares.
